Overview & Clinical Mechanism

Fasd (فصد), or venesection, is a classical Unani therapeutic procedure in which a small volume of blood is drawn from a superficial vein using a sterile lancet or needle. In Unani medical philosophy, excess blood (dam) or its pathological stagnation is considered a root cause of several inflammatory and systemic conditions. Therapeutic venesection relieves this excess and restores constitutional balance (Mizaj). All procedures are performed under full medical supervision using sterile equipment.
